Local activities: Mountain biking at Glentress, fishing on the river Tweed, golf locally or at Cadrona hotel (5 miles), shooting (by arrangement).
Local historical sites to visit such as: Traquair House, Roslyn Chapel, Melrose Abbey, Jedburgh Abbey, Floors castle and the cashmere factory (Caerlee Mill)
The inspiring city of Edinburgh is 27 miles away with its romantic Georgian squares, the Royal Mile and the castle, palace and whiskey museum. There is plenty to see with the art galleries, museums, and theatres or if you simply fancy a bit of retail therapy Edinburgh offers a wide range of shops. If you are looking for something a bit different then try one of the Ghost and ghoul tours of Edinburgh by night.
